Our team consists of former agricultural and regional journalists with more than 30 years of combined experience. With deep roots in these specialised fields, we offer a unique blend of expertise and have the ability to use industry-specific knowledge to the advantage of our clients.
Shannon Beattie was born with red dirt in her veins and saltwater in her soul. With her dad hailing from a farm at Yealering and a childhood spent roaming the beaches of Broome, she has always felt at home in Western Australia’s vast and rugged regions.
A storyteller at heart, Shannon has built a career bringing the voices of the bush to life. Armed with a Bachelor of Communications from Murdoch University, she cut her teeth as a journalist in the Pilbara with Seven West Media, where she learned firsthand the power of local stories. From there, she found her stride in agriculture, serving as Acting Editor and Senior Journalist at Farm Weekly, WA’s largest-selling rural newspaper. She then took her boots-on-the-ground experience to the Grower Group Alliance as a Grains Communications Officer, helping bridge the gap between research and real-world farming.
Shannon also works behind the camera as a Producer and Director with Anvil Media, Australia’s leading agricultural video production agency, capturing the grit, innovation, and passion that drive regional industries. Through years of working across the state, she has built invaluable relationships with growers, graziers, industry leaders, and local communities, gaining deep insight into the challenges and triumphs of rural life.
It was this genuine love for the land and its people that led Shannon to start Bush & Beyond Media. She believes every farmer, fisher, and country town has a story worth telling - and she’s here to help make sure those stories are heard loud and clear.
